The beginning of a new Academy semester, Dantes always enjoyed that first day. It was a chance to start fresh and try to make his first impression a good one- not that it always worked out that way. He had a tendency to come off as a cruel guy no matter how much he tried to be cheerful- that smile was always distant. You wouldn’t think that he was so detached judging by his appearance- he wasn’t even in his normal white robes, just a long white shirt that fell down to his mid thigh and a pair of grey slacks and his long, snowy hair tied back loosely , only just covering his just as pure rather large feline ears. Yes, he was one of those and as much as he tried to cover up the main aspects with his clothing and hair, it was mainly an epic fail seeming as added to his ears was the flow of a white wolven tail and his feet pawed and legs hocked- hence the slacks, hoping to cover the majority of what he considered to be the ugly side of him.
A snowy pawed hand reached out and grasped the handle of the door to his new classroom. The door itself was rather rustic, made out of thick, heavy wood and remained unstained. With a slight creak, followed by the soft gliding sound of it brushing against the floor, Dantes entered- his eyebrow perking as he saw what could only be described as a library, “Perfect” he thought seeming as books provided the vast amount of knowledge needed to help progress through this class. After all, what better way to improve on the knowledge of characters than to read into others to get a grasp about what is essential.
To get through this class with distinction you’d have to follow but a few simple guidelines- one of which was to not piss him off which would only happen really if you were to not do the following:
- Hand in work on time
- Take note of any advice given etc
- Check spelling grammar etc of work before handing in
- Follow the general Rule and Guidelines of the Academy
He made sure that these where permanently displayed using a holographic interface which sat on his desk. Other things displayed on this was advice about getting help via PM and also finding help through the RPA Rule Log in which there were several links and steps to take should students have any problems.
Satisfied that he’d done all he could for now, he waited for the students that would stroll through his door. _________________

An airy "wow" echoed through the Character Development room as the first student came inside. She was a long haired, teenaged brunette with a petite build. Her brown skirt swished and her light blue flip flops made a slapping sound as they hit the floor. Her bubblegum pink shirt couldn't be clearly seen because of what she was carrying.
It stunk of decay, but she didn't seem to mind. Whatever the creature used to be was unknown, his now pale green flesh was rotting away, at some spots even gone completely and showing off a skeleton that was now a golden yellow from age and exposure. Against all logic, the corpse suddenly moved, a pair of yellow globes firing up to life in the empty space of the being's eye sockets. The two-legged undead beast moved its head around, looking around with the same curiousity as the girl carrying it.
"Oh, hi!" The girl said, smiling sociably at the Instructor. "Where would you like us to sit?" _________________

Jake wasn't quite sure why he was here. He really wasn't. He had walked in to find a vast library and a strange girl clutching to some undead thing like it was a plushie.
The boy clutched his white and green towel for dear life. It was his security blanket, just like his fuzzy slippers, and his blue bathrobe with the teddy bears on it... He wasn't sure why Earthlings thought it was strange. It was suppose to relax them, right? After all, everything relaxes when they sleep...
Jake didn't say anything. He merely stayed quiet and waited for instruction. _________________

His nose wrinkled up some, the stench of decay most certainly clearing out his nostrils- something he didn’t particularly want to smell but if he was to be a nicer guy he’d have to deal with it. His ear twitched and flickered as he rose from his leaning spot on his desk, allowing his pawed fingers to greet the two new students- giving them both a quick glance and sussing them out. The girl, quite bright and cheerful- it seemed odd that she were to carry round a half rotted... thing. The lad in front of him seemed like he’d just woken up- Dantes shrugged this off, whatever suited him to where so long as he turned up, handed his work in and took advice where given,
“I’m Dantes, the instructor for this course. With me you’ll be developing your skills on how to broaden you character. In-depth backgrounds, consequences of personality traits... but first I’ll need to see what you can do already- so first task is to get a copy of a recent character bio that you’ve come up with. From there I'll go through with you places where you can expand on, things you may or may not need and eventually I'll do a little prep work for character interaction- just you explaining to me as to how your character would react to a situation. It all helps to add to character development to know them inside out before you go into and storyline”
He noticed he was hardly smiling, just a small flicker of one appeared every now and then during his little introduction and he felt his stomach sink- he was still the same, unwavering Dantes when it came to teaching: easy on the students but not necessarily friendly.
“You can sit... where you feel is comfortable, where you work best. It’s quiet in here so no one can really disturb you and I’m only a quick word away. But I’ll be helping you as best I can through your classes here.” _________________
Jake quietly walked up to Dantes, tugging out a file from his robe. "The most detailed..." He said, holding it out. "Partial parody character..."
Spoiler:
Name: Venus Starshine
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Species: Alien. I can go into intense detail on her species, going in and out of the various qualities inherieted from her mother and father, who are of different species, but at the end of that day, what's important is that she's an alien.
Timeline: Flexible. Oh so very flexible.... *cough*
Power Level: High-tier Medium
Allignment: Neutral Good
Appearance: Genetically and cosmetically gifted comes to mind. While in theory Venus is in no way a supermodel, in practice, her delicate features garner an impressive amount of attention. This is mostly because Venus does everything she can to increase her visual appeal. Her creamy skin is kept flawless due to precautionary measures that reach asinine levels, while her pink hair is groomed regularily. Venus often wears either basic but cute dresses and skirts while trying to “be normal”. On stage or in other situations, Venus's clothing is of bizarre, flamboyant and outlandish design, and seems like the a preformance is the only practical place to wear it. (A good example of her appearance is here.)
Personality: Venus is... out there (pardon the pun). Her behaviour typically comes across as strange to those that don't know her, and she is constantly giving off “tourist vibes” to Earthlings (or “those silly monkey people”, as she sometimes calls them). On the whole, Venus is bubbly, sweet and polite. However, she's also remarkably pushy, stubborn and just a little bit obsessed with herself. She hates people that complain and whine, especially when she - most likely being the most pampered individual in the area, mind you - doesn't find the problem that is instigating the whining that bad. (For example, if someone was constantly complaining about not having any food in three hours, yet she hasn't eaten in eight and hasn't spoke up yet.) While many PR agents would encourage for her to keep it a secret, Venus is a Star Wars fanatic and particularily a fangirl of Darth Vader and his secret apprentice. The girl is also constantly on the lookout for those that have the potential to become sensations like her, and it is not uncommon for Venus to practically drag them off to do so, whether they want to or not. Venus has a natural weariness of fanfiction (due to having read one too many inappropriate fics about herself) and has a transvestite fetish.
History: Venus was born into a middle class family that was relatively happy. Back then, Venus would regularily take time out of her day to practise singing. As it would turn out, Venus had an excellent talent for music, and when she got into her teens, she started to preform during talent nights. A talent scout was at one of these preformances, and particularily liked Venus's voice. Approaching her after she was done, the scout asked to arrange a few meetings with the girl. From this point, Venus was on a fast track to intergalactic stardom.
As it would turn out, Venus's sweetness and “natural” appearance was a big refreshment from recent trends in entertainment, and it wasn't long before the girl was a pop sensation. For Venus, this was all well and good. She was making a living off of doing what she loved, and her family was now in excellent financial condition. However, it wasn't long before Venus started to suffer from burnout. The stress and burden of fame was starting to frazzle her a bit too much, and she felt it was high time for a peaceful vacation. Of course, the problem with that was that she was known in practically every corner of the known universe by now. However, nothing stands in the way of what a celebrity wants. Venus's family decided they should try to find the Hicksville of the universe, somewhere so secluded that no one would recognise Venus in a million years, yet would still be hospitable enough for the girl to be comfortable.
As things would turn out, “Hicksville” would be Earth, home of those “silly little monkeys”.
So, Venus packed up her clothes and stuffed animals and went off to Earth for some R and R with her brother. Venus soon found that Earthlings had no praticular belief that they should bend over backwards for her. That made Venus happy. The other students at the school Venus went to thought of her as an outsider and tourist, and generally got the impression that she really didn't belong in the environment she was in. That made the girl estatic. Venus soon made fast friends with many of the students, finding it interesting that many Earthling teenagers had “special imaginary friends” just like her.
Powers:
Thermal Regulation: A minor, ratial power, it seems. Venus, for the most part, is always a room temperature. So, intense cold and heat do not bother her much. However, this only applies to the temperature in the air, and Venus can't adapt to sudden changes. Therefore, stepping out of a warm, toasty room and outside into a blizzard will still catch her. Plus, things like ice cubes are still cold to her and frying pans are still hot. Therefore, this power is really only useful for comfort.
Psychokenesis: The ability to move and manipulate objects with one's mind. This is where a majority of Venus's strength lies. Most of her attacks do not require a large amount of concerted effort, but very heavy tasks do. Venus also gets lightheaded and nauseus when she puts a lot of effort into her psionics.
Telepathy and Empathy: Telepathy is the ability to read minds and communicate with the mind. Empathy is the ability to read emotions.
Neptune Dimglow: Venus's imaginary friend. Seriously. For the most part, no one can see Neptune except Venus. In reality, the other girl is a Persona, and she grants Venus healing abilities, increased stamina and minor wound regeneration. Venus speculates she boosts her psioncs as well, but that's more of a placebo than actual boost.
Weapon: Being the Star Wars obsessed fangirl that she is, Venus went out of her way to make a lightsaber with the help of family and friends. The lightsaber itself has a pink beam (Star Wars fans, you may headdesk now.), and is used like any metal sword is used. Venus actually does have some very decent abilities with this weapon, but they are seldom put into genuine use.
Weaknesses: Venus has a temper that is easy to exploit, and once it is, the girl's fighting abilities are notched down considerably.
Easy ways to tick her off with are:
Comment on her lack of cleavage in comparison to most other girls her age.
Claim her singing is terrible.
Question her fashion sense.
Insult Star Wars.
Say bad things about Darth Vader. (One should note that this particular tactic can be very hazardous to one's health if they are vulnerable to a Force Choke ripoff. Venus has a thing for irony.)
Call The Secret Apprentice a Gary Stu.
Call her a Mary Sue. (Which almost happened when she encountered a member of SOFT.)
Accuse her of lesbianism.
Hit on her very, very girly looking boyfriend.
Try to look up her very, very girly looking boyfriend's skirt.
Refuse to put on the dress she picked out for you.
Ask her “what she's going to do about it.”
Tell her that you would “love to see her try”.
Recommend a Venus Starshine fanfic.
Write a Venus Starshine fanfic.
Also note that Venus has no outstanding physical strength. She can suplement it with her telekenesis, but otherwise she has nothing physical. Throwing cold water on her makes her freeze in the spot and try to keep all of her limbs as far away from the rest of her body as possible.
The boy walked away without another word, quietly inspecting a book with unparallelled interest. _________________

Sometimes Dantes wondered whether his students actually needed him- this was the most detailed character bio he'd been given in a long while and found himself scrutinizing it to add for improvement so that Jake could actually move forward in this class. After much pondering, thought and the odd flicker of his ears he'd settled on his outcome and rose slowly to talk to Jake,
"Right, this is actually really good, so we're just going to have to divulge further into it and bring out situations in her history where she got extra stubborn or someone said a keyword to annoy her and she either went over the top or underestimated them. Also, I'm guessing she has a boyfriend but I've been reading through and there's hardly a mention of him- nothing wrong with that persay but it could help you in the long run to explain a little about him and their relationship. And what did she do before she became this big singing star or can I assume she was a star from a young age...? Sorry to blunder this on you but I'm an inquisitive person and I s'pose I ask too much that's why I'm here... right... I hope that not too much to think about. Something to... mull over maybe an work on for the next part... Is this ok...?"
He'd never been good at breaking up what he needed to say but he'd got it all across and te knew that hat here was something for Jake to work with and hand into him in a couple of days time. _________________
Jake quietly looked at Dantes during his instruction. "I can answer... some of those." He said, poking through a book as he walked back to the instructor. "Some of those have been answered... in RPs. Sometimes with offhand comments..."
Another file was dug out of the alien's bathrobe. "There's a profile... for her boyfriend. I guess... the histories should've been mixed." The folder was handed to Dantes. "This is him... although outdated..."
Spoiler:
Name: Orochi Yumi
Age: 17
Gender: .... *cough* Male where it really, really counts...Female pretty much anywhere else.
Species: Human
Alignment: Lawful Good
Appearance:
*points* That pretty much sums it up. In other words, Orochi has blue hair, and the only thing masculine about his body is the genitallia. All other aspects, right down to the finest of physical details, make him look like a girl. He might pass as the effeminate boy he is if he was wearing boy's clothes... but odds are he's wearing something as girly as he is.
Personality: Orochi's polite and civil, and doesn't really get angry much. Talking to him, you can tell he's a pretty cool guy that doesn't afraid of anything. He is, however, a bit of a pushover... Well... uh, yeah... he's a LOT of a pushover. He frequently takes confusions over his gender lying down. It's really just easier that way. He openly admits that he's a bit too comfortable with girl's clothing than he'd like, and while he'd never want to say it, he'd probably pick a cute skirt and blouse over a manlier outfit any day. He tries hard, he tries so so hard at being a guy, but he's just a great big girl at heart. He swoons whenever a girl would, he collects Sailor Moon figurines and plays with them frequently, and he instinctively squeals and tries to hide his femmenine body if he thinks someone's peeping on him. That's not to say he's devoid of masculine traits. He loves sports, he's an FPS fanatic, and he's hardcore into gory slasher flicks and raw, unadulterated action movies. (This may be partially because those leading guys are so freaking hot, but he won't admit that...) Orochi is actually popular with the girls that know his identity (which is quite a few, considering he has to share the bathroom and change room with them. They're mostly fine with this, since he more than behaves himself and lets the girls go about their business), and the boys that don't know his true gender are friendly as well.
History: Orochi is Venus's boyfriend. Despite being born a boy, Orochi's body seemed to insist upon growing up like a girl's. This led to no small disappointment from the "boy's" father, who wanted his son to be a real, hardcore man. Orochi's father turned this spite on him frequently, taunting the young man and making several crude and uncalled for comments. He even went so far as to enroll his son into schools and other such programs as a girl, meaning that he frequently went to girls-only seminars and attended school in a female uniform. This cycle continued until Orochi met Venus. The alien girl took a shine to the boy, enjoying his courtesy and the love for music that he shared with her. It did not take a long time at all for Venus to pursue a relationship with Orochi. In fact, she pretty much planned on doing it after her first day at school. Venus lucked out when she invited Orochi over to her house one day. After finding out that he had been registered as a girl by his father yet again and that he was doomed to another school year in a skirt, Orochi was very upset with his father. One long argument over the phone later, and "Ori-chan", as Venus called him, had pretty much stated his refusal to go back home unless if it was to pick up his belongings. Orochi now only had his new school uniform and the male clothes he had worn for that day, and desperately needed somewhere to stay. Venus and her brother had more than enough room in the house they had purchased for their vacation, and the pair would've loved to have some company. As one could expect, this was a win-win situation, and Orochi promptly took up residence in the Starshine vacation home.
Orochi has some definite feelings for Venus. Not only does he share Venus's romantic feelings, but he feels obligated to pay her back for her generosity, as well. It is unknown weather it is these feelings or a basic lack of ability to fight back, but Orochi has pretty much become whipped after his first night at Venus's home. Orochi has gone through many trials for Venus that would be humiliating to anyone else, and he's defenitely been embarassed by several of them. Orochi has been subject to tasks that are both easy for him to just plain sickeningly bizarre.
Powers: Orochi has command over the Persona known as Raja Naga. This ability gives him command over several magical techniques, most of them being electrical in nature. Orochi also has a surprisingly strong and healthy body with a performance level almost outstripping human limits. The reason? Alien beverages.
"I'll answer the others... when I write them out..." Jake said. "I don't... talk much." _________________

He nodded in silence as he read through the extra information he'd been given, seeing no real reason to comment on it for now until he got the other updates from Jake. It wasn't needed to talk much if that's the way the student was- it would seem Dante just had to be 'to-the-point' with the guy, which suited him very well.

The deep corridors of the academy were nearly empty. Or, at least the halls that her classroom was at. She had signed up for this class, yet not many students were seen throughout the area. She checked her basic map of the academy again to find the correct number of the room. She felt like a freshmen in high school. The girl looked about 19 years old and dressed like a sleepy college student. She wore light clothes such as loose or baggy vintage jeans, a blank white spaghetti-strap tank top with an open zipper sweater. Finally, she found the classroom. The heavy door seemed to be closed. The girl took a moment to breathe and then entered the classroom.
Blaria expected a room full of students around her age. Instead, she saw a young bratty-looking early teenage girl with some rotten thing in her arms, a small boy with a green and white blanket, and an extremely handsome-looking professor. Great, I'm with kids now!? Blaria thought to herself as she gave the girl a glare that looked semi-friendly. She walked over to the professor and was ready to apologize for her lateness to class.
"Professor... I'm sorry for being late. M-my name is Blaria Rosefire... Here are my class papers.", she said in a rush as she handed him the sheet from the lounge she came from. She studied his body with amazement as she had never seen a hybrid between human and animal. She was from the big urban city far away from here, so that kind of thing was never seen. _________________ The Final Frontier: A New Hope. New Earth shall rule the galaxy!

The young woman with the undead beast suddenly approached Dantes, smiling easily. "I'm sorry I took so long, this was my very first profile and a lot of it took me a lot of time and hard work. I probably would've took even longer if I wasn't so worried about getting this in."
The creature held out some papers for the Instructor to take.
Spoiler:
Name: Darren Elliot, AKA, Princess Gumdrop ^^
Age: 16
Gender: Male until he transforms into Princess Gumdrop. Female then.
Race: Human
Alignment: Lawful Good
Power Level: Uhmmm... I'm gonna guess High-Tier Medium?
Timeline: Modern
Appearance: Darren is a tall, brown haired boy with a rigid, muscular build. He has a hard, handsome face, with a stiff chin, somewhat shallow cheeks, and small but bright green eyes. While he's still growing, he can already be considered rough and rugged on the outside. He typically wears a black shirt under a brown bomber jacket along with dark blue jeans with one or two frayed holes in them.
Princess Gumdrop, on the other hand, is a cute, shapely and petite sixteen year old girl with no visible muscle on her at all. All of her features are much softer, and she has wide blue eyes, small facial features and a cute button nose. She is on the small side, in terms of height and bust, but her body still has definite curves to it that're sure to win at least some affection. Her hair is a light, pastel purple, and part of it is held up in double buns. The rest of her hair comes down to about the small of her back. The buns are held in with white bands, and a pair of large glass beads that look like peppermints hang from each of them. Her outfit can only be described as whimsical and sweet. A pair of light pink silk gloves cover up to her elbows, and light pink stockings do the same up to her knees. Both the gloves and stockings are decorated simply. A pair of dark pink lines start on opposite ends of the rims, and then spiral downards until the wrist or ankle part of the garment. She wears a thin, white, short sleeved shirt with gold trim on the sleeves under a thin and closed light purple vest. At her neck on the vest is a big bow. It is done up with a large ribbon that is pink and blue, and the fabric changes between the two colours like it is tie-dyed. At the center of the bow is a glass button that has many colours swirling around on it, like a lolipop. Seemingly glittery ribbons stream down from her shoulders and are tied around the hem of her sleeves, but these are actually sugar crystals. A short skirt is being worn under the hem of the vest, which goes over its front and back a little bit. The skirt is a pale violet, with dark purple and pink lines swirling down to the hem, just like on her gloves and stockings. She has dainty, purple shoes on her feet, and they have elevated, but not very high, heels.
Personality: Darren is a rough and tumble boy. While he's not a bully or delinquet, he is rough around the edges and a bit coarse. He has a heart of gold to those in need, though, and he hates seeing anyone suffer. He's easy to get worked up and his temper is like a firecracker unless if he's really focusing on the task at hand. He has a great deal of interest in woodworking, metalworking, and fistfighting. He has very little appreciation for art, and he keeps a very strict diet to keep himself healthy. He has an inexplicable phobia of pumpkins. When it comes to romance, he's all about girls. The type of girls you see in bikinis for car and motorcycle ads.
When he transforms into Princess Gumdrop, however, the girl's personality overrides most of Darren's, forcing him into a position of back-seat driver. Almost anything Darren tries to say or do in Princess form gets filtered through Gumdrop, interpreted into a princess-friendly facade, and then let out. Darren knows that he'll probably never get to say how he really feels in the Princess form, but also acknowledges that it's something of a necessary evil... most of the time, at least. Gumdrop herself is about as energetic as Darren is gruff, but while Darren's sense of justice can be convoluted at times, the Princess sees things very much in black and white. The Princess also has an irresistable weakness to sweets and handsome boys, oftentimes leaving Darren's conciousness in the dust and choosing herself to squeal and devour or glomp the weakness in question.
History: Once upon a time, there was a royal family with magical power. This family bore deep responsibility, and it was immensely important to keep a strong line of adept rulers. The eldest daughter of the last ruler of the throne was an evil, mischevious woman, who, as it turned out, was abusing her power for her own personal gain. Because of this, she was passed up for leadership, and the mantle was instead handed to her younger sister, Princess Gumdrop. The older sister was not pleased, and at the end of the ensuing conflict, both Gumdrop and the evil sorceress faded into obscurity...
Until one day, the sorceress came back. However, she was incredibly bored and lonely, she needed something to occupy her time. So, she decided to seek out her sister's spirit, for she knew that the girl would have a reincarnation somewhere in the world. That reincarnation happened to be Darren Elliot, a rough and tumble boy that was definitely not what the older sister was hoping for. However, the older sister had found a way to find her fun nonetheless. She granted Darren the power to channel the spirit of Princess Gumdrop inside him, and then set herself up as a villainess once more. Now, the battles between Princess Gumdrop and her evil sister have returned, leaving a reluctant Darren in the crossfires.
Powers: Using the power of the magical Sceptre of Sweetness, Darren is able to transform himself into Princess Gumdrop. In this state, Darren's physical agility, stamina and strength are enhanced to a superhuman level, and he has access to a plethora of powerful candy-themed magical attacks.
Weakness: As stated before, Darren has a huge, debilitating and incurable fear of pumpkins. In the form of Princess Gumdrop, he is weakened by large amounts of water, and his attacks can often be dissolved by that very same element.

Van rushes through the double doors of the classroom letting them slam open with a resounding :CRACK: that echoed through the quiet library.
Stupid stupid stupid, calm down take a deep breath and for Gods sake collect yourself man! He berated himself as he made his way to the front of the class handing the instructor his paperwork from the administration office.
"I apologize for my tardiness and my rude entry Sir. Here is my paperwork from the administration office." He waited around the front of the class just long enough to begin to feel awkward and out of place before he took his seat and waited for instruction. _________________

The irritation of waiting for work had taken it toll on the instructor, so naturally when a new student arrived, he found himself having to brighten up and hide his disappointment. The two older students, though fresh in their own right, had taken forever to bring him any work and would later find themselves to be growled at and possibly allowed to have an oversight of the lateness of their papers. He realised people had their lives to busy themselves with but they did afterall sign up to this class and his boredom of sitting around for them had caused him to neglect a few things. Still, this was no reason why he shouldn’t try harder with the newest student to grace his presence.
He stood up and stretched, his tail straightening and his ears giving a quick flicker before he once more relax and approached his newest, seemingly nervous student. He shook her hand within his own and gave a smile,
“Blaria Rosefire...” He repeated more to himeself, “Well it’s a pleasure to have you here, I’m Dantes, instructor of character development... we’ll need to look at a profile... biography... thing that you’ve already written before we can progress. I’d like to see what you can already do, if that’s ok. I’d like to take some time--”
He would have loved to discuss and talk a little more but now, now a student had decided to hand in some work. He wanted to just brush the fact it was way late under the carpet but it was so late that he couldn’t help but grumble, having to turn and
“I’m gonna put this lightly, it don’t matter what it looks like ‘cause I’ll be helping you make itbetter anyways... you could’ve just handed me any old crud and I’d have given pointers and told you where to improve.... as it stands...” He read it over with his uncanny speed, “I’m glad you put the effort into this and I can give you some advice already- mainly in the form of working on your history and developing a little more on these powers and weaknesses. For instance, where are the parents of both Darren and Gumdrop...? what upbringing do they both have, can Gumdrop sense her sister’s spirit, what the implications of Darren channeling Gumdrop, do his friends- if he has any- notice the change/ have seen him change and alienate him”
He stopped, realising he was reeling off and possibley ranting at the poor girl- to which he was slightly embarassed and his cheeks flushed ever so slightly. He took a collecting breath and looked at the girl,
“I’m not... I’m not trying to overload you here- this is just my assessment, the things I look for when going further into a character’s being. What makes them who they are is how they were brought up and cultural influences..... For now, just work on developing the history of your characters and then we’ll move on to discover more about the powers and weaknesses, which all I really want from that area is things like... what can trigger the powers and ... will the sight of a pumpkin stop gumdrop in her tracks because of darren...that kinda thing...”
He pulled out a piece of paper which had everything he’d just said, written on it and handed it to her,
“Hey, this doesn’t mean that your first profile was a disaster. I’m impressed by it, we just need to tweak those things I’ve mentioned and it’ll be a great character profile.”
He didn’t get time to turn back to talking to Blaria as another student crashed through the doors making him cringe a little as his delicate ears were tortured by loud, clattering noises,
“Apology accepted...” He grumbled, rubbing one of his ears, “I’ll need to see a character profile from you so that I know your current capabilities. That way we can assess what needs to be worked on and progress through the course. Please, get it to me witin two days..”
He looked at everyone, “Two days for work people... I’m not a harsh tutor if it’s late but it will affect marks so what you hand in better be pretty swish if you wanna make up for it being late” _________________
Van rummaged through his notebook searching for an acceptable character bio before he gave up and resigned to write one. A few hours of scribbling, erasing and exasperated sigh's he finally had something he hoped would be moderately acceptable to turn in. After ripping the page out of his notebook he stood up and made his way to the imposing hybrid.
"Here you go Sir" He said as he handed his work over for scrutiny.
Spoiler:
Name: Caleb McGuinnes
Race: Human
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Alignment: Chaotic good
Time period: Modern
Appearance: The awkward blend of Irish and Pacific Islander descent has left him with tan skin and a smaller build that both races seem to be gifted with, making Caleb the average height for kids his age, 5ft 10in. His normally shaggy black hair was cropped and gelled into spikes to keep it out of his liquid azure eyes that seemed both warm and inviting. If anything about him seemed serious, it was immediately forgotten once you noticed the perpetual smile that pulled at the corners of his mouth. His clothing choices of a smooth black lambskin leather jacket over a red hooded sweatshirt perfectly accented his thin khaki cargo pants and black skater shoes, further showing his unwillingness to be taken seriously.
Personality: Quick to act and slow to anger Caleb believes life is to short to waste time on complex emotions. But such things do happen and when they do there is no such thing as moderation. When he loves it's unconditional, often times bringing nothing more than heartache in the end. When he angers his personality shifts to something closer to the legendary berserker. Nothing short of death or divine intervention can stop his rage before the demon is satiated. These qualities forge the primary essence of Caleb’s being. He will protect those he cares for with his life and would gladly sacrifice his well being for the sake of their happiness. If left to his own devices though, Caleb would rather sit quietly back and enjoy reading a book in seclusion away from the world and all its problems.
History: Caleb’s family was never poor nor were they rich. They were a true middle class family where everyone pulled their own weight. Caleb attributes his good nature and Pacific Islander descent from his father whom after retiring from the military worked as a correctional officer with the penal system. The only thing he got from his mother was life before she walked out on Caleb’s family leaving his father to raise Caleb and his younger sister Kyra.
Growing up was hard for Caleb. His father had to work as many hours overtime as he did on the clock just to give his children what they wanted. This often times left Caleb to watch out for his little sister who fate decided would constantly be in one form of trouble or another, anything from ditching school to being in debt to drug dealers of the most unsavory kind. When not in trouble Kyra was a child prodigy when it came to engineering. Her seemingly useless inventions would grow into complex machines. But her inventions grew few and far between as she got older causing Caleb to spend much of his time away from school and in some fight or turmoil to get his sister out of trouble. Due to his deliquesce from school his book learning is lacking severely but his street smarts and subterfuge are at the top of their game.

He'd given it a few days to let student work trickle through. Having now recieved just one return he decided it best to not let other students lag behind and hinder some progress and after apologizing profusely he took to helping Van with his work,
"I'm impressed, this is quite good- we just need to develop more into the history. You see, you tell me he has had little in the ways of parenting- due to his mother walking out and his father working long hours. Did he mature quicker because of this, having to watch out for his sister? And things like- did it make him bitter at heart because he ever got the care he needed even if he was always provided for.
Basically, I would like you to read further into this history you've written up and consider the cause and effects of each point. Alrigh...?"
Having hoped for the best that his point had been put across, he waited for a sign, if any, that he was understood, so that he could relax a little. _________________
Van silently took his paper back with his revised notes scribbled across the back as he tried to take in all that was being asked of him and went to his seat. After studying over the notes some more he realized what was being asked of him and quickly set back to work. _________________
Satisfied with his work and minor revisions Van stood up from his chair and slowly paced back to Dante.
"I think I got everything that you were looking for Sensei"
Van held out his revisions for Dante to look over and awaited his critiques.

History: Caleb’s family was never poor nor were they rich. They were a true middle class family where everyone pulled their own weight. Caleb attributes his good nature and Pacific Islander descent from his father, whom after retiring from the military worked as a correctional officer with the penal system. The only thing he got from his mother was life before she walked out on Caleb’s family, leaving his father to raise Caleb and his younger sister, Kyra.
Growing up was hard for Caleb. His father had to work as many hours of overtime as he did on the clock just to give his children what they wanted. This often left Caleb to watch out for his little sister who, fate decided, would constantly be in one form of trouble or another; anything from ditching school to being in debt to drug dealers of the most unsavory kind. When not in trouble, Kyra was a child prodigy when it came to engineering. Her seemingly useless inventions would grow into complex machines that could accomplish the simplest task or compute unsolvable equations. Through the use of these machines, Caleb’s family never had to worry about the small things in life, and he never had to learn the responsibilities instilled by doing simple chores. In his own right Caleb is as much a vagrant as his sister, except he believes as long as his actions go to the greater good of protecting his sister, he is absolved of the errors of his ways. This is the cause of many arguments between Caleb and his father, who would love for nothing more than to see Caleb succeed in life, but is fiercely proud of his son for fighting the battles he cannot to ensure his daughter's survival.
Due to his deliquency from school, his book learning is lacking severely, but his street smarts and subterfuge are at the top of their game. His deep respect for his father's willingness/desire to do everything he could for the family instilled Caleb with the same sense of pride that refused to give up regardless of the odds. Though he’s never complained about his lot in life openly, Caleb often wonders what life would be like had his mother stayed around, or his sister been normal.

He'd taken time to read through Van's work and was trying to find a way to challenge his student a little further. Having come up with nothing, he decided for the time being to atleast congratulate- maybe talking and elaborating on the points he liked would give him an idea- he wanted to make sure that from the improved history of Van's character, any situation could be handled a little more easily by looking back at the effects the past would have on the character. So he shook Van's hand with a slightly warm smile on his face- the first student of his class that he was willing to pass without any further progression on their work- merely because there wasn't much else he could improve upon seeming as everything else was done to a high standard,
"Well, if I don't say so myself you've improved it massively. It's kind of hard to think of anything to show you how developing more into a character works out in the long run- other than asking you to write out a response to a section I could write for you. But in all honesty- you've passed this class. I'm a mere stepping stone in your development as a roleplayer and would gladly let you carry on with your studies unless there is anything else you wish to gleam from me...?" _________________

Thank you Sir....I...really don't know off the top of my head anything more that I should ask of you. The assistance and teachings I've learned from you have actually been quite enlightening. _________________
Lizzie found the room she was looking for, and quickly checking the door number once more, she opened it carefully and stepped into the room, shutting the door behind her. She looked around the room and grinned, books, and plenty of them! Lizzie loved to read, and it seemed that this room would be just perfect for her studies.
Eventually realising why she was actually there, Lizzie tore her eyes away from all the books, and looked around for the teacher. Spotting him sat at the teachers desk, she quietly made her way over, trying not to disturb any students that may be working hidden by book shelves. Reaching the desk, Lizzie lay down her administration papers and introduced herself, "Um, hi, I'm here for the Character Development class..." She stated, her nerves returning slightly at the prospect of meeting someone new. _________________

His eyes shot open- it had been so long since a student had come in that he'd lent back in his chair and slept for a while. It probably wasn't the right thing to have done, a teacher should lways be alert, and yet, why be alert when there is no-one around. Still, he sat up and stretched himself awake- his large white ears flickering as he did so,
"Hey there, I'm Dante, you're development instructor"
There was a soft smile on his face as he stood up and shook her hand with his own pawed grasp, he was always somewhat amuse by how small everyone else's hand were in comparison to his own. Infact, if he wasn't so relaxed half the time [yes, unbelievabley, his bluntness was a relaxed approach] then he may have been taller still and yet he just didn't want to make that effort unless he had to,
"It's quite simple this class. Y'see, I look at your character biographies, or one that you want to improve upon and give you pointers and explanations as to how you can make them a great deal better"
He looked around a little and then back at her, "And alot of information can be sourced from these books... reading bout the chracters within.." He snapped out of his slight daze, "Anyway, welcome to Character Development" _________________
Lizzie tried not to giggle at her instructors almost comical awakening, and she smiled as he stretched himself to wake up.
"I'm Lizzie, " She replied, amazed at how her tiny hands seemed to get lost in his large ones as they shook hands, "I look forward to working with you!" She smiled.
Lizzie nodded as he explained, biting her lips slightly, "I don't really have many character biographies, I'm quite new around these parts..." She admitted, "Though I might be able to find one or two..." She added as an after thought, "Is there anything in particular you're looking for?" She asked, wanting to be certain before she showed him any of her previous work.
Following his gaze and also looking around at the books, Lizzie sighed, itching to get her hands on some of them. She nodded in understanding, knowing first hand how much knowledge could be gained from a book, then smiled brightly, "Thankyou! I can't wait to get started!" _________________

"Lizzie... Hmm, I think we'll get along just fine" There was a gentle smile on his face as he leafed through bits of paper to jot something down- more a note to himself of his new student and he'd probably never write anything more than her name down because his way of working didn't involve a set task or timeline so there wasn't really anything else to write about.
He shook his head a little, "I'm not looking for anything in particular, just something we can work with for now. If you've taken character concept you'll have the basics for making a character bio- My classes are more.... advanced, giving you the skill to make an indepth character. So all you need really is to show me what you have already"
He wasn't sure why he was feeling tired, but he covered a short yawn with his large pawed hands and carried on, "So really, this should be the most laid back class you got- I'm more easy going and a one on one tutor so I hope you don't mind the sompany of a furball" _________________
Lizzie smiled, "I hope so!" She liked to get along with her teachers, feeling that it helped her to learn more in the long run, as she felt more comfortable coming forward with any questions she may have.
Lizzie nodded, listening intently as he spoke, "I do have a couple of bio's.." She spoke, "But nothing major I don't think..." She added, whilst rummaging around in her bag for the pieces she needed. Pulling out two pieces of paper, "Not my best work, but they're all I have to hand at the moment..." She apologised, before placing them on the desk.

Personality: Abi is a quiet individual, yet will speak out on issues she feels strongly about. She likes to hang around in big groups so as not to feel alone, and although quiet, she will speak to anybody. When Abi left her mothers house after getting into an argument with her stepfather, she travelled to her father’s house, only to be greeted by a half sister she had never even heard of, and her father telling her there was no room for her to stay, and that she should go home to her mother. "ok, we're going to take it a step at a time I think" He wasn't going to be critical of her work because on the whole it was good for what she had. He liked the fact she used a short history for her characters as it was refreshing to have a short recap on a character instead of needing to have reems of writing. Although he would do a little work with the history aswell just to make sre that if she needed to, Lizzie could go into great detail,
"I'd like you to write out a personality profile for your Alice character. I like the one you did for Abi, it's quite simple but has all the information you need. But with Alice I'd like to see if you can go into as much detail as possible, reverting to her characer history aswell. S'alright?" _________________
Lizzie bit her lip nervously, though otherwise appearing quite calm as the instructor read over her work. She nodded in agreement when he first spoke, glad he wasn't going to be placing too much onto her shoulders at a time, and upon hearing her assignment she smiled slightly, it wasn't too much, yet it provided enough of a challenege for it to suitably occupy her time.
She nodded again to show she had understood, then took her papers back for reference, and left to find a quiet table, where she could work in peace.
Spoiler:
Personality profile for Alice: Alice is a very determined young woman, and can do well in most things if she puts her mind to it. She is quite outspoken, and tends to air her opinions rather loudly, which can often lead to trouble. Alice prefers to spend time alone, though is not adverse to the company of one or two people, so long as she knows them well enough. Although Alice rarely starts conversations with other people, unless she feels she needs to, she will always respond to them politely remembering the manners her mother taught her from a young age.
Lizzie completed her work rather quickly, but read through it carefully, checking for any mistakes, before standing from her table and making her way back over to the instructors desk, "I hope this is what you were looking for..." She said, a hint of nervousness coming through in her voice. _________________
