Julia wasn't paying much attention to what her friend was saying. She was thinking about the man. Who was he? He felt so out of place in this story's world. He had to be from their world. Maybe? It was completely possible, but she doubted that was the what was up. He just didn't seem to be part of the story, especially the fact he wanted them to meet up with him.
She pulled her friend along and interrupted Liz's thoughts. "Come on, act like you belong here. Let's go buy some new clothing," she said smiling. "This is not the time to think about anything else all right? Do not think even about the burnings."
She turned away from her and began walking on, glancing back to make sure she was following. _________________

As they walked to the shop, Liz took notice of what the people in the town were wearing. All women were wearing dresses or skirts. There was no way she was going to shove her body into one of those. No way in hell. She could pretend to be a boy. A very feminine one, but if she pulled her hair back a certain way, she could have that sort of boyish charm.
"I'm not wearing a dress." She told her friend as she pulled her into the shop on the right. Taking the lead, she went right up to the shop-keep and began to speak. "Is this where we can purchase some new threads?" she asked. She realized that the woman didn't understand her slang so she rephrased for her. "I mean, our our outlandish clothing have been attracting unwanted attention when all we want to do is fit in. Is there anything we could purchase that might suffice?"
The woman again blinked at her and Liz gently put the purse of coins in her hand. "A dress or some sort of skirt thing will do for my friend and maybe some pants and a tunic for me."
The woman nodded and walked into the back of her shop.
"See, I belong here already." She said with a smile and a nudge to her friend. _________________

Things were getting odd. Julia glanced at her friend and gripped her hands as she began to notice people staring at them. This was an uncomfortable situation. She wasn't sure what to make of this. People, peasants were just watching them keeping them in view. They had hard and suspicious looks. She tried to her to ignore it, but she couldn't. Her hands began shaking, her nerves working up.
"I don't like this Liz. They are watching us like eagles. Let's try to hurry this up," she whispered straining to keep calm.
She looked up then as the peasant woman came out carrying a grayish tunic shirt, simple pair of pants, with a pair of high boots for Liz. Julia chuckled at the fact her friend was planning to dress as a boy. Well, it suited her not that she was saying her friend was a boy, but it looked good on her. She with her curvy body could not work boy clothes. She handed them too Liz and looked at Julia.
"And for you..." She said handing over a red and soft grayish red peasant gown with a hood.
Julia looked at it carefully, pleased with the simplicity and the rough material. It would have to do. "Thanks," she murmured, handing over the gold.
"Do you need anything else?" _________________

Liz just laughed at Julia's comment. "Of course they're looking at you! You're hawt!" She then looked to the woman and smiled awkwardly. "So, where can we put these on?"
The woman motioned to a room in the back and she nodded her thanks and pulled Julia back. Quickly, she pulled on the pants and the tunic and used her belt to loosely hold the tunic at her waist. "So, Julia, what do we do know? Do we actually meet that guy at the place... you know. I really don't know my way around medieval town so... it kind of seems though. I really think we should be trying to figure are way out of here." She smirked and turned around so that her friend could change. _________________

The Princess Edith looked up to see the captain. Immediately his words made her brighten up even if it was a false truth. She loved her father dearly. He was never the king her grandfather had been. He had a good strong heart and since he had no male heir, she was to become queen once he past. Or the crown moved over to a twice removed cousin, who was spoiled rotten. It sickened her that the bishops and the other men of higher status would plan to replace her with that selfish prick. She did not feel ready at the same time to take the throne, but she would take it to prevent the vile man from taking her rightful throne. Now everything was clear as she stared at her childhood playmate and strong emotions were coming upon her.
"Oh my dear, Tywin," she said, standing up and embracing him fully. She realized what she was doing and pulled back quickly. "Excuse me for my improper behavior. I feel I have been denied proper company with those demons on the loose and the high ranking official planning behind my poor father's senseless back. I feel so overwhelmed." She sat back down, her head resting in her hands.
--------
Julia raised a brow at her friend, seeing that it made her feel a little better. She still thought it was their 'strange' garb that made them get the unwanted attention. "Whatever you say sweetheart," she replied teasing. They were changing now and poor Julia loving old fashioned clothing was having difficulty with her dress. She looked at Liz with a pathetic expression but soon she was dressed and looking pretty good.
"So, Julia, what do we do know? Do we actually meet that guy at the place... you know. I really don't know my way around medieval town so... it kind of seems though. I really think we should be trying to figure are way out of here."
She smiled. "I say we look around and see what we can find," she said, tapping her shoulder. "I am done. Anyways how many pubs or whatever be here?" _________________

“No pardon necessary your majesty …….. Edith. Though, I have sworn my undying fealty to you and your word is my command that does not prevent me from remembering us as children and frolicking and laughing the long summer days away while swimming in the lake. Or the wane winter afternoons sneaking away with fresh pies right under Kayla Aldrith’s nose,” he chuckled at the last. The fond memories of his youth scampering about the castle with Edith in tow, stirring up as much trouble as they could without being caught brightened his mood. He took a seat on the bench next to the princess, leaning forward to prop his elbows on his knees and look about the garden.
“Do not give into despair your majesty. There are those that still hold you and your father in the highest esteem and will stand by you.” He shifted position and looked directly at her. “I will stand by you to the bitter end if that is your fate and will do all I can to help keep the circling vultures at bay. You have my oath on that,” he said earnestly. |

"Well, there's the one that we have to go to if we want help from that guy who gave us money. I hope he didn't think we were some type of foreign prostitute. Because that would be bad..." By this time, she was off in her own speculatory world, calculating the different possibilities they could run into. "Or maybe, he's some sort of undercover cop, or not cop, what ever type of soldier investigates in these times and he really does think we're here to hurt the monarchy and so he wants to keep a close eye on us in our 'travels'"
Of course, as she spoke, she began to walk, almost unconsciously to the tavern that the mysterious man had mentioned. However, in her excited state of speculation and adventure, her voice continually got louder and her expressions and hand movements drew more attention than many would have liked. People glanced at the two as they passed, but Liz, stuck in her own world for the moment, kept going, not knowing the reactions of the townsfolk.
Brightly, she turned to Julia. "This is fun. It's like a day at the Ren. Fair, except it's real." She laughed and went silent for a moment. "I wonder if they'll serve us at the tavern..." She said, grinning. She'd never really had interest in alcohol before, but the notion of not knowing if it was legal or not intrigued her. She nudged her friend lightly. "Well, we're here, I think..." _________________

Julia raised a brow as she looked at her friend with a different perspective. She hadn’t known her friend was this imaginative. Maybe she would write a book later in life. Like the adventures they would have in this story. She released a high chuckle just thinking about a factual book written based on them and the story they got sucked into. She laughed shaking her head some.
“Let’s not question it Liz,’ she said, showing off a broad smile. “The tavern awaits us, sir.” She was teasing her friend for dressing like a boy. They walked a good distance when they saw the tavern in view. Julia stopped at the door. “Wait…”
----- ---- -------- ----
Edith looked at Tywin, careful to take in everything about him. She had a gut feeling that something was going to happen to her soon, so she wanted to remember her best friend. She bowed her head in respect and smiled, saying,” And your word means a lot to me because many I can not trust. I fear for the future. I am glad I still have you to call me by name and not just Princess all the time. I am honored to have this friendship.” She looked away. “Thank you Tywin. Thank you.”
Her eyes glittered with utter sadness with the sun shining on them. She hugged herself, her fingers digging into her arms. "I am not ready for this responsibility..." _________________

Seeing Edith distressed sent a pang through Tywin’s heart. He reached out a hand to try and comfort her in some small way, but stopped short of touching her, letting it fall to rest on the bench between them instead. She would be his queen someday and knew such a gesture to be inappropriate. He was only captain of the guard, thanks to his father’s influence, and only the son of a Baron, not even landed. He understood the stark reality of his families’ station and it fell far short of what was required from a potential suitor. For the stability of the kingdom she would be wed to the son of a Duke, or Earl. This harsh reality conflicted with his feelings. He had known Edith since childhood and now that they had grown into adults, he could no longer deny the love he felt in his heart that he kept hidden away. She had never given any sign that she shared those feelings so he did what was expected of him and carried out his duties as captain of the guard to the best of his abilities.
“If I may speak freely….Edith. I have watched you grow into an amazing and very capable woman. In my opinion you are ready to bear the mantle of rule and when that day comes when you are queen, I pray it is far into the future, you will rule with greatness,” he said. He hoped his words, spoken from the heart, would help to lift her sadness and push aside any doubts she had of her abilities. He stood and bowed to her, the friend sealed away once more to be replaced by the captain of the guard.
“If there is somewhere you need to be your majesty, I would be honored to provide escort.” |

"Ha-Ha-Haaa." She laughed in as deep a voice as she could muster. "That was funny, really, it was, miss," she said, offering her arm to her friend as they walked inside. Julia stopped however. This was cause for great pause, mainly because Liz was holding onto her friends arm. "What?!" She said, impatiently.

((for Van))
Epoche waited inside but it seemed that he still couldn't place their accents and garb and so he decided to hide from them and follow them along their travels, making sure they were safe. The two seemed quite ignorant and he felt they would need his help, so quickly, before the girls entered into the tavern, he quickly slipped into the shadows. _________________

Edith carefully gazed up at Tywin as he suddenly changed characters on her. It was like she was reading a book or more like a play. He played two roles just for her. Seeing him become his captain self made her smile because he was so formal. When she thought of him, she thought of the charismatic and goofy boy she grew up with from childhood. She could hardly care about her rank, but society and her people did. With a courtly nod, she stood up.
"If you have the time captain," she said, the potential queen took over. "I would be honored of you to accompany to great hall. I believe I must meet with some very influential people and my darling cousin is coming to stay for a couple of days."
-------- -------- -------
Julia shook her head as she stared at a tavern just a head of them. She was confused herself. Why had she asked to stop? She looked at her friend with that questioning look. "I don't know Liz,"she responded in a half asked tone. "Come on let's go in." She opened the door, stepping into the shady looking place. She held it open for Liz. _________________

Tywin walked with Edith towards the Great Hall admiring the richly woven tapestries hanging from the walls as they passed. Her hand rested lightly on his right arm extended to his side while he placed his left hand casually atop the pommel of his sword. Pale morning light streaming in from large arched windows cut across their path. The hallway was silent and somber other then the soft brush Edith’s dress across the floor, and Tywin’s heavy treads marking their passage.
“I was considering calling a full review of the men for when your cousin arrives your majesty. You could be presented from the balcony overlooking the court yard. The show of power could not hurt and it may even impress upon the doddered that you rule in your fathers stead until he recovers. It may sway him to reconsider his ill conceived ambitions for the throne.”
They entered a private sitting room for the royal family at the back of the great hall and Tywin paused before formally announcing her arrival.
“What do you think your majesty? Shall I begin making the arrangements?” |

"Um, okay crazy-pants, I mean, skirt." She said, entering the tavern. A frown crossed her face, mainly because she'd just replied lamely but also because the interior was less than to be desired. It was dimly lighted and the windows were small. It smelled like alcohol and... she didn't even know what the other smell was, but it wasn't pleasant and wasn't something she'd encountered in LA. She cleared her throat and forged a path through the crowd for Julia; Liz was the man and she didn't want to break expectations. Her eyes scanned the room, but the mysterious man was no where to be seen.
Suddenly, she felt a shoulder ram into her side. "Watch where you're going, kid," a man said, gruffly.
She looked up and saw a terrifying man looking down at her. She whimpered "I-I'm sorry, I mean-" she coughed and lowered her voice. "I didn't mean to bother you. I'm just trying to meet someone."
The man let out a grumble and then looked her over, his eyes falling to Julia. "And what do we have here?"
Liz reached her hand behind her and grasped onto Julia's. "This is my cousin. Please, leave us be. We're just here to meet someone, we don't want any trouble..." _________________

This would not end well. Her eyes hardened on the man who was speaking rudely to her friend. As a woman should for the times she gripped her friend's hand and hid further in the protection of Liz's shadow. There was no way she could allow her friend to get into a fight even if this was part of the disguise. Julie pulled her closer. "Do not do anything stupid.." she whispered. "Come on let's go..."
The man noticed Julie's nervous reaction. "Such a tame little dame isn't she? Maybe she should spend time with me," he grinned, showing off yellowing teeth. His whole appearance was nor presentable.
"I rather not. Come on cousin, we must join our other cousin," she said, dragging Liz away.
------ -------- -------
Edith stared down at the ground, refusing to acknowledge to the other men in the room. Her sisters were there too. She did not want to acknowledge the truth. Nothing would be all right. Her father would die, she would not get the crown and her kingdom was doomed. Carefully, to hide her worried thoughts. Her eyes widened as she stared at the small group of finely dressed women.
"Yes that would be for the best..have that done captain," she said, smiling softly. "You may go now captain...my sisters are here."
"Hello lords and ladies..." Edith announced. Her voice was now authoritative and regal. Her eyes held the strength needed to be a ruler worth something, but her will was weak week. _________________

| “Consider it done your majesty,” Tywin said, bowing formally for all in the hall to see, but more importantly out of his deep felt respect for Edith. Turning briskly on a heel he marched from the hall to see to the arrangements. He would call in all patrols for the day, make damn sure armor was polished, leather cleaned and brushed, and tunics mended. The display must be impressive. There could be no doubt in anyone’s mind who ruled after the event. If anyone even thought about causing trouble, they would answer to him. His steps quickened to a more confident, purposeful gate. He now had something important to order. It felt good to once more take positive action in support of his queen and the realm. |

Liz tried to ignore the man and looked around for the more important one who'd told them to meet him there. "Where the hell is that guy?" she whispered to Julia as the creepy man slinked off. "Maybe we should go. If we could maybe... I don't know, follow the plot of that book maybe we could get out of here. There was a princess, what if we go find the princess?" She asked of her friend, keeping one eye out for eaves droppers and the ugly man who'd come to enjoy harassing them both. _________________

From his shadowed table in the corner of the tavern Epoche watched as Gregor made his advances on the two girls. Normally this sick display of courtship would have sent every fiber of his chivalrous nature ablaze, resulting in the death of the tavern drunk. But he had to make sure for himself that these two were in fact where he thought they were from. So far his suspicions were correct and that was good enough for him.
"Back off Gregor! They're out of your league anyway. Epoche called across the tavern as Gregor having mustered up enough liquid courage looked like he was going to make another pass at the girls.
The hard glare in his face ensured to the town drunk that his silent threat was nothing less than serious. But as he turned his head toward the girls the smile that replaced the stern grimace was nothing short of warm and inviting as he motioned them over to the corner table. The small head of a puppy poking up from his lap over the table's edge helped to reassure his warm protective nature. _________________

"Yeah, Gregor..." she echoed under her breath to Julia. "we're totally out of your league." Her weak insult faded away as their attention turned to their two time savior. Liz really wanted to know this guys secret to getting them out of trouble. He seemed an expert already and they didn't even know his name. "Hey, thanks for that..." she said to Epoche, pulling out a seat for Julia before sitting in a chair beside her.
Like most teenage girls, she her eyes instantly fell to the puppy. "Oh my god!" she whispered in a high voice, her boyish façade breaking instantly. "What a cute lil' puppy you have there!" She reached over the table to scratch the little guy's ear. "I always wanted a puppy, but my mom... she was allergic." She frowned a little, still paying attention to the puppy.
After a moment, she snapped out of it and straightened up. "I mean..." she cleared her throat and looked to Julia for help. So far, the two had learned how bad their communication skills were. She really had wanted to work on those prior but had never really seen the actual consequences of terrible communication. _________________

Her eyes met Epoche's when he arrived and saves them from the potential danger of the guy named Gregor and thinking of any guy she met named Gregor. The name naturally made her chuckle to herself. When she thought of a these times, she never thought of the name Gregor. Her eyes met with Epoche and Liz as she took a seat in her pulled back seat. As anything, being a strict feminist she would have to scold her friend later.
Before she could say anything else, Julia saw the puppy and giggles at Liz's reaction. She fixed her dress and smiled at the cute little creature. She wanted to pet the puppy and react as an excited little girl. However, she kept herself masked as a proper woman.
"Alright, we met you here," she said, leaning in towards Epoche. "Now...please explain to us why we here and meeting you?" Julia was always one to get down to business.
-----------------
Edith faced the whole crowd, unsure of all the royal ladies and gentlemen. She would have to take the first order of business. She took a seat, her frame pressed against the hardness of her throne. She stared, blank in expression and such things. She was not thinking of the people before her. What kept her calm was the thought of her father getting well. _________________

"Yeah...!" Liz echoed after Julia's commanding questions. "Why did you want to meet us?" She raise a curious eyebrow and squinted at him in an attempt at a passive glare. Glaring was never her forte. "Explain, please." She leaned into the table, hoping that the man would have some sort of secret job; maybe he was important. Liz had no idea, but it seemed that way when he handled the guards earlier. He was a mystery and it wasn't like Liz didn't enjoy a good mystery; it was just that there was too much mystery at the moment and relieving one would lessen the stress she was under and like any good Californian, she was always looking for a way to have less stress. Her mother always said that stress gave you wrinkles and Liz didn't want that. For all her tomboyishness, she was surprisingly concentrated on her appearance. _________________

(This post was co-written by Gideon and Raic.)
Lilith padded silently into Adonai’s throne room and bowed low before she crawled up his throne and resting her head on her leg looked up at him. “It is done, Adonai, as you can no doubt see.”
His eyes blazed and black lips parted in a cruel snarl exposing razor sharp ivory fangs. Adonai was very pleased. Caressing an armrest with his left hand, razor sharp adamantine nails digging into the flesh of the human frozen in horrified relief, face contorted in anguish, he gestured for Lilith to rise and approach with his right hand. The human, naked and strapped to the armrest of the throne, a noble who failed to perform the required task, could not cry out as the flesh along his back split open along four clean lines. Only the tears streaming down his face marked his pain and suffering as blood and muscle spilt forth from the gapping wounds left behind by the passage of the clawed hand. Rising from the throne to his full height, he pined Lilith in place with his fiery gaze, powerful muscles flexing and rippling beneath his crimson skin, a crucible for his smoldering molten power.
“Your return pleases me Lilith. I missed you” he said, his voice coarse and rumbling, so deep of tone, many likened the sound that issued forth came from the very depths of the ocean when he spoke. He took the woman into his arms and squeezed her affectionately. She purred happily and nuzzled into his chest. “I missed you too my Lord,” she replied, all but bursting with the emotion that coursed through her upon hearing that her master had missed her presence. “It was you I thought of while I did what you asked me to do.” He smiled and stroked her cheek. “I know that Lilith, and I appreciate and honor your sacrifice, as always. You shall be rewarded for it.” He leaned down to kiss her, sliding his hands over her skin, leaving bleeding rents where his nails dug in. She held herself to him, murmuring softly into the kiss, shivering when her blood slid forth from the cuts, though the sensation was short lived as they healed.
Immune from the seductive power of the succubus, the demon lord was able to keep his cool. Her body, pleasing to him and though it did drive him crazy, he was able to restrain himself. Folding his leathery wings about her form, he bent closer to sink his fangs into the sweet flesh of her neck as he took the full pleasure of her body. She gasped as he fed upon her body, her arms wound tight about his neck. She grew limp in his arms, whimpering with pleasure and pain.
He released her abruptly and she fell in a heap to the floor at his feet, a contented smile on her face. He smiled down at her, and crouched next to her to place a kiss on her cheek. She rubbed at it with a smile and held her hand out to him. He pulled her to her feet and smiled. “I have to leave the keep for some time Lilith,” he murmured, his wings furling and unfurling, eager to fly. She pouted a little and he laughed. “I will not be gone long.” He stroked her face once more and turned to leave. “Hurry back Master,” she purred, sighing inwardly. Though she was almost always alone in his domain, she never felt lonely when she knew he was here. When he was gone however… She sighed and turned her attention to the bleeding human attached to his throne. At least he left her something to do.
Adonai flowed from the depths of the keep, climbing the winding stairs of tears until he reached the top of the tower of perdition. The heavy strikes of his cloven footfalls were a rumor of an approaching avalanche, sending his minions scurrying away in fear before his passage. He launched himself from the precipice, to soar through the night sky, his wings snapping taught on thermals rising up from the scorching valley of sorrow far below. He had important business with a human, a prince Caspian, next in line to the throne after Edith that he dared not trust to another. When completed, it would be just a matter of time before his prize brought before him, and locked safely away in the tower to await their wedding day. |

This was getting to the point Julia was finding this ridiculous. The man was not talking, but he obviously knows something they did not about this story or play they were in. She thought this was going to be exciting, but now it was bugging her and she was feeling anxious. Her eyes gazed at Epoche, her stare piercing and not in the least bit merciful. This was getting to her. Her hands curled into firsts. The puppy that was with Epoche seemed to notice because he let out a small whine and hid in himself.
Julia slammed her fists into the wooden table and glared at him. “You brought us here and now you give us the silent treatment?” She said, frowning. “Look thanks for the help, but if you do not plan to explain to us what is going on I am going. This is a waste of my time...Let’s go Liz.”
She did not care how he might react to her sudden out burst. Inside she was boiling for they had been sitting there for a long while and she felt they had been led on. She was going to leave, if her friend came along great. All she wanted now was a way to get home. With quick, smooth strides she walked out of the pub, bar or whatever it was, the door slamming. Julia did not care anymore about the potential adventure. Though the raging feeling she felt slowly began to fade as she came to a place that welcomed solitude from the other folk that walked by.
Julia leaned against the side of a building.
--- --- ---
Edith faced the crowd of royalty, her face serious and childlike as she tried her best to keep the commanding expression. She managed a courtly nodded to her large audience and began to speak. “Tonight I speak before you as to the concern of my ailing father, the king, who lies in his death bed. May he be in our prayers to recover…” She whispered the last part.
She looked at every individual, counting the people out there. She was surprised by how many there were who came to listen to her very words. There were fifty people.
“I am to be announced the fateful ruler of this fair land, we the royal are so proud of. That is if you all see me fit. I know I feel prepared to take on the role as the Queen of this great land and try to restore this country to what is was. And I hope Lord Bishops, Dukes, and royal men alike see me fit to play the role that my father has seen in me,” She said, ending her small speech. When she finished she nodded and sat back down, wishing more then anything to just disappear as the men began to talk amongst themselves.
‘Just a little longer and they will be gone for tonight,’ she thought. _________________

Liz blinked as her friend walked out of the tavern and stood, eying Ephoche and the door. "Well, if you have something to say, you better say it now, because I'm a follower and this is mighty out of character for me to be here. But you seem like you have something to say about us being here, about this whole damn mess so speak and I might, just might be able to get Julia back in here. Assuming your answers are good enough." She raised an eyebrow as if to punctuate her strong words.
She felt bad for not going out to Julia, but she knew that she needed to know why she was there. This Epoche man seemed like he had all the answers and hell, she owed him for helping them blend it. At least they didn't stick out like a sore thumb any more.

Officer please! The eyes of the frightened child stared deeply into his soul.
The loud BANG! as Julia slammed her fists to the table brought Epoche out of his quite reverie. What she said prior to her escape was lost on him as he shrugged off the horrible memory.
"Well, if you have something to say, you better say it now, because I'm a follower and this is mighty out of character for me to be here. But you seem like you have something to say about us being here, about this whole damn mess so speak and I might, just MIGHT be able to get Julia back in here. Assuming your answers are good enough."
Epoche took in the question unmoving as he still pondered about the strange uncanny resemblance between the princess, this "Julia" girl and the poor child from his past. How is it possible for me to be cursed like this. His own mind try as he might was unable to grasp onto the unfolding events.
"Liz is it? Well to answer your questions...or rather add to the growing list of questions your about to ask me. I have no idea how you came to this place. I remember when I first came here, I spent a year before I accepted the fact that I was never going home."
Epoche waited against his growing anticipation to get Julia to safety, to allow the weight of his words to rest on her friend.
"Your friend looks remarkably similar to the princess and soon to be queen of this land. The real problem is that there are countless plots against Edith and your friends safety might be in jeopardy because of the resemblance....."
Epoche's anticipation finally got the better of him and he could no longer ramble about Julia's perils to a third party.
"Look, believe me don't believe me I don't care. I've made a promise to myself and a promise I will keep. Find your friend, Bring her back to the Inn and hide her. I don't care what you have to tell her just tell her it. We can figure this all out once she's safe." Epoche's sudden snap at Liz was completely unintentional but he hoped it was placed correctly to get the desired results. _________________

((Joint post between Van and Kaelyn))
Liz's mouth was sealed shut as she listened to the man's outburst. It took her awhile for all the information to sink it. She folded her hands in front of her and narrowed her eyes at him. "Are you saying that... you're from where we're from? And that my best friend looks like a princess whom everyone wants dead... and that you haven't found a way to get back?" She clenched her teeth and exhaled, trying to remain calm.
His knuckles turned white as he gripped the table, trying to contain his overwhelming urge to rush out the door and just "kidnap the poor girl".
"Yes...I used to be an officer in the LAPD. When I saw you two today I recognized the clothes but was more astounded by your friends resemblance. The fact is the people of this land love the princess....adore her to the point of fanatical interest. This puts a hindrance on the less than exemplary citizens and denizens of this land who know that if she were to take power they would be routed out for what they are and put to death. Without her in the way there is no problem to them"
Liz chewed on her bottom lip, trying to buy herself time to think. She was always so slow at these sort of things, not like Julia. Julia was always smart in these kind of situation. "So... since Julia looks like this princess... people are likely to go after her?"
"Precisely....." Epoche managed through gritted teeth as he slowly calculated each and every patron of the Inn and assessed which of them would have recognized the princesses doppelganger. The odds didn't look good in his favor or the girls.
Reaching into his pocket he fished out a scrap of leather from his brother's armor and gave it to the puppy who looked up at him with frightful eyes.
"I'm fine pup...now go get him please...quickly now" Epoche said to the puppy as he pushed it off the seat next to him and it sped through the crowd making it's way to the kitchen.
Julia blinked. "But if..." she let out a whistle and stood from her seat. "We have to get Julia now before anyone else sees her! I mean, if she's wandering the streets, she could be victim to any kind of attack!" she said, standing from her seat, heading towards the exit in a rush.
As Liz sped through the open Inn, Epoche continued to watch the crowd and noticed more than a few of the unsavory patrons get up from their seats and find various exits into the alleyways and town streets. This is bad...where the hell is my brother and the guards. I doubt I can take them all and ensure these girls safety. Epoche having little time to react rushed after Liz, remembering to grab two dark cloaks on his way out the door.
"Where is she? Put this on and pull the hood low" Epoche half demanded as he thrust the cloaks into Liz's hands and readied his sword, cursing himself for having left his shield in the room.
"This is about to get really bad real fast, When we find her cover her in the cloak and find a dark place to hide."
Liz took the cloaks in her arms and began to stutter. "I don't know... she... wandered off to get some air. She does that when she's mad!" Liz reached underneath her shirt and pull out her trusty slingshot just in case Epoche did have to use his sword. "Julia!" She yelled nervously as she turned the corner. _________________
