We all know about Recluce. The island to the west composed of ordermasters and their familes. That unassailable empire that has crushed every fleet sent against it. How if you don't fit to their standards of perfection you are thrust out until either you fit or you die. These people who are thrown out are called 'dangergelders'. Some return after years away, some are never able to return and still others once they leave never wish to return.
Recluce has been the most powerful nation standing for as long as anyone live can remember, but the histories tell that once long ago Hamor was the strongest. Once just after the founding of Recluce, when Cyador was just beginning to rise in power. It faced the power of the Emperor of Hamor and the Triad.
Cyador had thrown itself head long against Hamor only to be contemptuously thrown back to it s own borders. The Cyadoran's seethed as they bided their time and grew in power. Slowly over the years Cyador regained and surpassed the power it had thrown against Hamor like the foam waves against the jagged rocks on the shore of Sylpa.
Yet still they did not strike, they waited becoming more powerful. Finally the Empress of Cyador decided to send agents against Hamor. Several of these agents were found and executed. A few however remained and eventually came into high ranking areas of the Hamorian Hierarchy. Only the Triads were free from corruption.
Soon after the Empress died and her son became Emperor. He ordered the agents to follow through with their orders and murder the Emperor of Hamor, along with the Head Marshall of the Army and the Senior Merchant leaders. They were alos told to execute the Triads if possible.
Suddenly Hamor was with an Emperor, Head Marshall and had lost two of the Triads. Cyador attacked and decimated Hamor. The army is now fighting a losing battle and the Mage Gaurds are stretched to thinly to help.
Now there is a group of young dangergelders who are being sent to Hamor each with their mission to accomplish and their own agendas to further. Some will help Hamor some will help Hamor fall. Only time will show who is remembered.

Ok here we go. This is based of a series of books I enjoy reading by L.E. Modesitt Jr, called the Recluse series. Just wondering if anyone is interested in doing an rp where magic is divided into two groups chaos and order. The magic is simple chaos is used for destructiona dnorder for strengthening things. Though quite that simple, the rules of order and chaos aremore complicated that simple magic is in other stories. In this world chaos and order must balance each other out. Chaos used in one area strengthens the order in a nother and so on and so forth. While chaos and order can be used without thought such actions often have dire consequences. If you wish to be an order mage let me know and I'll try to explain a little more Chaos mages are simple. They can fight and can destroy the very fabric of someone's person, if they're strong enough. _________________ The blood I shed,

It sounds like it could be interesting, but I'm a little concerned about how the Order/Chaos system would work. It's quite a powerful system, especially for those who are wizards of the white.
I have a character in the works who might fit in, especially going by Modesitt's own characters.
Out of curiosity, around which book did you plan to set it? |

Closer to around Natural Ordermage and Mage Guard of Hamor more or less, but earlier in history. Probably about as much earlier than those as they are to The Magic of Recluse. I haven't had a chance to read all the books so if you've read more than those feel free to share some of your insights from the books. _________________ The blood I shed,

| I'm over 300 pages into The Magic of Recluce, and I have The Death of Chaos on its way. I've not read any of the "earlier" books, sadly. |
