The smile disappeared from James' face and a look of complete seriousness appeared.

"Whoa whoa whoa honey bunny, this ain't got nothin' to do with pride. Now I don't know what you have against me or my gender but any kind of discrimination or prejudice is pretty f*ckin' pointless in a world like ours. Us supers or mutants or whatever you want to be called should really stick together, or as the character Jack Shephard from Lost, my favorite TV show of all time, would say, 'If we don't live together... We're going to die alone'. So get off your damn high horse and just try to work with me, not against me." James took another swig from his beer and looked Yori right in the eyes.

"And I hate to break it to you but we're both relatively human, right? So that makes us equals in my eyes. Isn't that what you'd prefer? Someone treating you as an equal? So what's it gonna be? You gonna work with me or are you gonna have a snobbish attitude toward me just because I'm a man and you think all of us men are the same and we all want the same damn thing with a women?"

Yori stood there through the whole thing, doing nothing but raising an eyebrow. "You read all of that because I said that I made the offer to help her rather than because I thought she was incapable? Much as you took that I thought she was incapable from me offering to give her a hand in the first place? And you are the one who sees fit to give me a lecture upon the nature of my attitude? Does that not seem somewhat ... what is the English word ... hypocritical?"

James walked up to Yori and got in her face and looked deep into her eyes and began to speak through his teeth in an angry, yet calm, serious tone.

"I didn't understand anything of what you just said besides incapable, lecture, attitude, English, and hypocritical and I don't like any of them words besides attitude and English. And you know what I think? I think you are being quite the... What's the Russian word for it? Oh yes, 'сука' for no f*cking reason so I think you should leave." James walked over and opened the door to the motel room and began speaking in a normal and calm voice.

"You can either quit talkin' down to me just because I'm a man or you can leave."

Catherine looked at the two, her face filled with worry.

"Stop it! Please! I don't know what's going on, but surely we're stronger as three, not as one and two, right? I don't want you two fighting over me, or anything." She said slowly, in a slightly wobbly voice as she held back tears. "James, go back to resting whilst Yori helps me sort myself out, please. Whilst she's helping, I'll talk to her, alright?"

She held her toiletries close to her chest as she took Yori's hand and tried to pull her into the bathroom.

"Come on, before you kill each other. Please!"

"Fine... Sorry, kid."

James closed the door, drank the rest of his beer and threw the bottle in the room's garbage can. Without saying another word to anyone, he walked back over to the bed and laid down.

"Why am I so damn tired..." He was out like a light but his eyes always remained wide open.

"We are not going to kill each other," Yori promised the girl as they headed into the bathroom with their things. "He simply misunderstood me. He will be of a cooler head after he rests."

She set her things upon the counter in there and pulled out a special bottle of shampoo. "Shall we get started?"

(Time lapse to hurry this along? Skip to when they're finished with everything and you and I, Lairiana, can determine what the end result will be?)

After a short while, Catherine and Yori emerged. Catherine was wearing the shirt James stole for her and a new pair of jeans. She gave Yori a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek as a thank-you, and then she went to rummage in her bag for another bottle of coke.

"Do you want one, Yori? We have beer... Well, James has beer, too." She said, deftly brushing her now-shorter hair out of her face. "Maybe there's some food in there, too."

Catherine patted a spot of the bed next to her, inviting Yori to sit down. She took a long drink from her bottle, coughing as the bubbles felt like they were fizzing in her nose.

"So... Where do we go now? After we wake him, I mean." She asked, her pale eyes studying Yori's face. "And if this guy's there, c-can I hide behind you?"

Yori chuckled at the girl's enthusiasm and moved over to sit beside her as offered. "I stay away from sodas and alcohol, but thank you," she answered with a nod. "After this, if you'd like to accompany us, we were going to a meeting with a man that calls himself the Phantom." The Russian smiled reassuringly at the seemingly much younger girl. "He may seem pretty spooky, but once you get to know him, he's really more on the silly side."

Catherine attempts to wrap Yori's arm around her, hoping for a reassuring embrace.

"Is he the bad guy in all this, then? Either way, you and sleepy head over there can do all the talking. But yes, Yori, I want to come with you two. I have nowhere else to go, and if I come with you then maybe I could be useful." She said, enlarging and shrinking her hand as she did so, hoping it would ease her mind.

She looked around the room and then down towards her feet before sighing. "Do you think I look alright, Yori? I don't want to look sillier than I would do... normally."

Yori returned the hug with a smile. "You're fine, kiddo. You look great. James won't know who he's looking at!"

She got a more thoughtful look on her face as she prepared to answer the other part of her question. "Phantom, the bad guy? I'm really not sure. There was a time when he wasn't." After a moment, she shook her head and merely repeated herself, "I'm really not sure. That's why I want to go, find out what this is all about."

Yori glanced over at the Corpse. "To which end, if we don't leave soon, we shall surely be late." One flip of her foot caught one of the empty plastic bottles off of the floor and lobbed it right over at the man's forehead. "Wakey, wakey," she called, her thick accent making it sound different, "eggs and bacey!"

James sat up, stretched out his arms and yawned then looked at Yori and Catherine.

"Damn it... now I'm hungry." James got up from the bed and walked over to the bathroom sink and splashed some water on his face and slicked his hair back with the excess water on his gloved hands. He came back to the bed and picked up his hat, which was left on his pillow.

"You look great, kid." James smiled at Catherine then looked at Yori and put his hat back on.

"I'm sorry for overreacting. It was just one of those days, you know? And I just lost it." James sighed and then put his arms out for a hug with a goofy smirk on his face.

"Forgive me, Snowie?"

"Do not worry over it," the woman answered, crossing her arms and turning her head to the side, grinning out one eye toward him. "You can't help it, men are preprogrammed to defensive violence when they feel outclassed."

She was teasing, of course, since he had taken such offense to the slight mention of men earlier, but this time, her posture would make it clear that it wasn't serious.

James' arms fell to his side and and his shoulders slumped into a bad posture with a fake smug look on his face.

"Ok then..." Then he smirked and got in a hero pose with his fists clenched and at his side.

"So, are we ready to go?"

"L-Lemon cake?" Catherine asked as she stood up and adjusted her clothes. "What sort of meeting is this?"

She picked up another bottle of cola from her bag and took a small drink from it, hoping it will quell the butterflies in her stomach.

"L-Let's go. The longer we wait, uh... Something something, something." She said, shrugging defeatedly.

"Oh!!! Bob's Character!! Sorry I kept you standing there so long! The controller of my character has been busy with work and bills have been backing up because of other random drama and girls... Ugh! Girls are such a pain in the ass.. So now I'm finally able to reply to you standing there --in my kitchen-- with a rather unfathomable creation of vine and stationery. Please!! Have a seat!! It's about to begin!!" spoke Phantom to David, once again breaking the fourth wall as he frantically went about the room, looking down at Immortalis. A huge, childlike grin spread across the depths of his mask, though none could quite tell, as he took his place in the center of the room, finding once more the position of most epic-display.

"Now fellas... When they come in.. I need you to stop pretending to be the shredded bits of crayon after scribbling all over a generic coloring book and become a live and flamboyant otter. Your comprehension matches my dubious suggestion, yes? Live and Flamboyant. It'll be more immaculate than the dialing tone of a phone off the hook, though still holding the mayo." The sun had begun to set, and everyone who was going to come knew when and where to meet. Patiently he waited as the first group of people began moving in, striking up a tableau pose, becoming an immovable object in the center of the room. His stillness held no visible flaw; though there seemed to be no real reason. At that point, even he was rather certain that no matter who or what came up to him, he would not move from his position until everyone was seated and the meeting officially came underway...

... Not even lemon-cake.

(Time Lapse Initiated! *Sci-Fi Warping Noise*)

"Girls are a pain, are they?" the Snow Rabbit repeated as she entered in full costume again, Cathrine and James coming in behind her. Yori had in her hands a cake carrier with the silhouette of a double-layer cake visible within, and no doubt the Phantom's fine lemon senses had already identified the contents within. "Even after they go through all that work to fix your favorite?"

Just for emphasis, Yori cracked the lid slightly to allow the smell of the freshly-baked and smoothly-iced confection to quickly permeate the room.

James drew his revolver and caught up to Snow Rabbit.

"That reminds me, I still owe you a carrot cake." Then he looked over at the strange masked man in a pose matching in strangeness.

"How you doin' you crazy, fruitcake eatin' bastard?" James pulled a beer out of his pocket and twisted it open with the revolver still in his right hand and took a long drink from it.

"I'm glad this meetin' is finally gettin' goin', finally movin' the plot along."

Catherine hid behind both of her new friends, trying not to come across as worried, afraid, nervous or a mix of all three. She peeked out from between James and Snow Rabbit almost comically, her pale eyes wide with fear. If anyone were to know her and see her now, they'd be convinced that she was at least a few inches shorter.

"I don't like this..." She whispered under her breath. "I don't like this one bit."

Rowan walks toward his ring with tesla coils by it. 'Ahh.... the fresh smell of metal." He walks out to the streets. "Well, I wonder if there are any super heroes out today.... just to make sure....." He gets some C-4s from a secret compartment and run along the roofs and starts to set them up. "Heh... let's see, green, or red.... green... or red..... no wonder it's that hard... I bought this off of Ebay." He walks back to his base and puts a black cloak on. He walks around, randomly jumping onto roofs until he stumbles upon James. "Umm.. excuse me, where am I?" ,Not noticing the other strangers.

Breaker smiled as Snow Rabbit walked into the room, "All right a hooker and cake, usually she'd be in it, but that's fine by me" He looked confused once he saw Catherine, "wait she doesn't look like a hooker" then he noticed James and his and shot up aiming his pistol at him, his appearanced sending breaker into a shocked mild panic, "What the F**K! Zombies?! What the f**k is is that!"

His gaze darted around and since Phantom didn't seem to move at all in response he calmed down slightly, but kept his pistol on the drinking Zombie, "You guys are okay with that?!" he sharply asked the two ladies walking in.

He couldn't take his eyes off James as he drank his beer and it was just to much for Breaker, "How the hell do you drink without lips?!" after his outburst he said, "Someone just tell me he wont eat my brains...and put a damn mask on it!"
